How to Troubleshoot Window Update Error 0x80070003 in Window 10 and 11?

Method To Troubleshoot Window Update Error 0x80070003 in Window 10 and 11:

1. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:

For this, you should download Windows Update Troubleshooter. When the file is downloaded and then run it. Now, you should choose one of the available options and then tap on Next option. At this point, you should wait for the procedure to complete. If in case, you still find the issue then you should choose different troubleshooter.

2. Restart or Stop Windows Update Service:

The user should press Windows key + R at the same time and then input services.msc and then hit on Enter key. Now, you will right-tap on the Windows Update service. Here from the menu, you should left tap on the Stop button. Then, you should Reboot your Computer. At the end, you should Return to the Windows Update service and then left-tap on it and then choose Start.

3. Delete DataStore Folder:

First of all, you should open your File Explorer. After this, you should go to:

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

At this point, you should visit to the DataStore folder and just delete the files and folders which are present in it. Here, you should go back to the SoftwareDistribution folder. Next, you should visit to Download folder and just delete all files and folders from it. At last, you should Reboot your computer and then check if the issue is resolved or not.

4. Restart Windows Update in PowerShell:

The customer should tap on Windows key + X at the same time and then choose Windows PowerShell (Admin). Now, you should run the below commands:

net stop wuauserv

net stop bits

net start wuauserv

net start bits

5. Run DISM:

To run DISM, you should right-tap on the Start button and then choose Windows PowerShell (Admin) from the menu. Now, you should run the below command:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

After this, you should run the command:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This process will take 10 minutes for the procedure to complete. When the process is finish, you should restart your PC and just check if the problem is solved or not.

6. Download Each Update:

You should go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website. After this, you should enter the KB number of the update which you wish to download. At this point, you should locate the update which matches your PC architecture and just download it. When the update is downloaded, just run it and then follow the directions on the screen in order to install it.
