Method To Fix If System Restore Did Not Complete Successfully:

1. Keep Computer in Clean Boot Status:

First of all, you should Sign in by using a profile with administrator rights. Now, you need to tap on Windows key + R key simultaneously in your keyboard just to open the Run menu. Then, you have to type msconfig and then press Enter key to open the System Configuration window. Here, you should open the Services tab and then check the box which is next to Hide all Microsoft services. After this, you should tap on Disable all option. Next, you should go to the Startup tab and then choose Open Task Manager. In the Task Manager window, you should open the Startup tab and then select Disable each program. Lastly, you need to close the opened windows and then restart your computer system.

2. Run System Restore in Safe Mode:

You should open Start Menu and then tap on Power button. Now, you should hit on Shift key on your keyboard and then tap on Restart option. If your computer restarts, then you should select Troubleshoot and then tap on Advanced options. Here, you should tap on Startup Settings and then tap on Restart. If your computer restarts again, then tap on F5 key to choose Safe Mode with Networking. When you enter Safe Mode, then you should perform System Restore.

3. Perform System Restore:

When you boot your PC, by using Windows DVD or System Repair Disc, then you will view a black screen which displays with gray text i.e. just Press any key to boot from CD or DVD. Now, you should press any key of your choice. At this point, the next screen will display which states: Choose your keyboard layout screen.

Here, you need to choose the correct time and Keyboard layout. Then in the lower-left side of the screen, you should hit on Repair your computer. After this, you should choose Troubleshoot option from the Choose an option screen. Next, you should tap on Advanced options in Troubleshoot screen. At last, you should choose System Restore option.

4. Check System Restore Status:

For this, you should press Windows Key + R altogether to open up the Run menu. When it is opened, then you should type in gpedit.msc. Here in the left side of the screen, you should go to Computer Configuration and then tap on Administrative Templates. At this point, you should choose System and then tap on System Restore. Now, you should check these two options: Turn off Configuration and Turn off System Restore settings.

If in case, it is not set to Not configured, then double tap on each setting and just set it to Not Configured. Lastly, you should tap on Apply and OK button to save changes.

5. Perform System File Checker Scan:

The user should tap to open the Start menu. Now, you should visit to the search field box and then type in CMD. From the list of results, you should choose Command Prompt. Here, you should right-click on it and then choose Run as Administrator. Then in the new window which opens, you should enter the command and then hit on Enter key:

sfc/scannow

Lastly, Restart your computer system.
